TerraExplorer’s 3D layer export tools vastly expand TerraExplorer's compatibility with external viewing and editing applications. The export tool supports export to Cesium 3D Tiles, I3S/SLPK, 3MX, and 3DML formats, and incorporates clip polygon capabilities so you can extract a specific area of the layer for export.

3D layers (3DML/o3DML) and 3D Tiles generated by PhotoMesh can be exported to individual 3D models, LAS point cloud layers, or ATAK (for use with the ATAK mobile application). Other mesh formats (OSGB, DAE – LODTreeExport) that were generated by PhotoMesh can be imported into TerraExplorer, converted to 3DML, and then exported to these formats. The Export tool offers robust control over multiple aspects of the export process, such as grid type, grid size, area selection methods, and coordinate system adjustments. Importantly, the tool supports both 2D grids and 3D boxes, enabling you to manage complex three-dimensional data and allowing features like tall buildings or utility poles to be vertically segmented into multiple files.
