Applies To:
PhotoMesh 7.8
Problem:
When a project build is started in PhotoMesh 7.7.2, and then resumed in PhotoMesh 7.8, upon starting the model reconstruction stage, PhotoMesh displays the following error message: "Surf failed output validation. The file 'C:\Users\skyline\AppData\Local\Temp\PMFuser_39840\tiles\pcloud-0-0-0\poisson-tmp.ply' does not exist."
Explanation:
The model creation step in PhotoMesh 7.8 requires components that are created in PhotoMesh 7.8 point cloud generation. These components were not created during PhotoMesh 7.7.2 point cloud generation, so they are missing from the upgraded project.
Solution:
You have two options:
- Rebuild the project from Point Cloud to Project Output - This is the preferred option since it will give you all of the benefits of the PhotoMesh 7.8 new point cloud mechanisms.
- Build the project from Model Creation to Project Output - If you have multiple tiles and want to save the processing time required to regenerate the point cloud in 7.8, you can add the following reconstruction flags to advance to the model creation stage without the 7.8 advanced components.
