Edit Feature Layer

Edit basic layer and feature properties from the layer’s property sheet.

1. On the sidebar > Layers tab.
2. Click the layer you want to edit, and then click Edit > Layer Properties . The Layer’s property sheet is displayed. Edit the layer properties as required. The specific properties displayed depend on the feature layer type. 

1. • Name - Name of layer. 
   • Tooltip - Text to display when the mouse cursor is placed over the layer in the 3D Window. Field expressions are supported. 
   • Polygon Type - For polygon feature layers, the symbol type to use when rendering the features in the polygon feature layer: 2D polygon or 3D polygon. The properties listed in the property sheet are based on the polygon type selected (polygons). 
   • Display Point As - Select whether to represent each point feature with an icon or label (points). 
   • Color - Color of the features (points if represented as labels, polylines and polygons). Click the color bar to open the Color dialog box, or type the color code in hexadecimal 0xBBGGRR format (B = Blue channel 00-ff, G = Green channel 00-ff, R = Red channel 00-ff). 
   • Label Text - For point layers represented by a label , the label text. Field expressions are supported. Click Apply Classification to select a field attribute on which to base the text label content (points). 
   • Apply Classification - Field attribute on which to base text label content (points). 
   • Outline Color - Outline color for each of the layer’s features (polygons). 
   • Icon URL - For point layers represented by an icon, URL to the icon file (points). 
   • Image Color - For point layers represented by an icon, the background color of the image. Click the color bar to open the Color dialog box, or type the color code in hexadecimal 0xBBGGRR format (B = Blue channel 00-ff, G = Green channel 00-ff, R = Red channel 00-ff) (points).
   • Image Opacity - For point layers represented by an icon, the opacity value for the image. The opacity is defined as a percentage, where 100% is opaque and 0% is transparent (points). Field expressions are supported. 
   • Line Width - Line width in pixels (1-5) (polygons and polylines). When layers published in TerraExplorer Pro are loaded into your project, all meter values are displayed as 1 pixel wide.
   • Extend to Ground - Extend the polyline or polygon vertically to the ground (to create a partition such as a fence or wall) (polygons and polylines). The Extend to Ground parameter is not available if the “On Terrain” Altitude method was selected. 
   • Line Opacity - Line opacity (polygons). Select Yes or No.
   • Opacity - Opacity for layer’s outline (0-1) (polygons). Field expressions are supported. 
   • Text Size - For point layers represented by a label, the font size, in pixels of the label text (points).  Field expressions are supported.
   • Font - For point layers represented by a label, the font of the label text (points).
   • Background Color - For point layers represented by a label, the background color of the label (points). Click the color bar to open the Color dialog box, or type the color code in hexadecimal 0xBBGGRR format (B = Blue channel 00-ff, G = Green channel 00-ff, R = Red channel 00-ff). Field expressions are supported.
   • Background Opacity - For point layers represented by a label, the opacity of the background color of the label. The opacity is defined as a percentage, where 100% is opaque and 0% is transparent. When the opacity is set to 0%, the characters are surrounded by a solid background color outline to highlight the text (points). Field expressions are supported. 
   • Italic - For point layers represented by a label, select to apply italic font style (points).
   • Bold - For point layers represented by a label, select to apply bold font style (points).
   • Scale - Determines the dimensions, in meters per pixel, of the label or icon (points). The maximum character height is the Text Size times the Scale value. Field expressions are supported.
   • Limit Growth - If this parameter is set to Yes, the label or icon keeps its original size in pixels (Text Size). It does not grow as you fly closer (points). 
   • Min. Viewing Height - Determines the minimum viewing height at which the label or icon is visible (points). The label disappears when flying lower than the “Min Viewing Height”. Field expressions are supported.
   • Classification Mode - Determines whether to use the layer's polygons as classification polygons, and how to display these polygons: Classify by displaying 3D polygon (based on the extruded polygon) or Classify by colorizing all objects and layers contained within the extruded polygon (2D polygons). Classification allows you to associate areas of layers and objects, e.g., mesh layers, with polygon features and their attribute values. This enables you to then access the attribute data of the classification features and perform spatial and attribute queries on the classification feature layer. The classification polygons are generally features in a feature layer, but individual polygon objects can also be used. 
     
   • Extrude Up / Front - Length to extrude the polygon upwards or frontwards in the direction of its normal. If a polygon’s elevation angle to the ground is less than 20 degrees, the polygon is extruded vertically. If the polygon points were created in a clockwise orientation, then the front is the side facing the user. This option is only available if Classification Mode is set to 3D polygon or colorize (2D polygons).
   • Extrude Down / Back - Length to extrude the polygon downwards or backwards in the direction of its normal. If a polygon’s elevation angle to the ground is less than 20 degrees, the polygon is extruded vertically. If the polygon points were created in a clockwise orientation, then the back is the side opposite the side facing the user. This option is only available if Classification Mode is set to 3D polygon or colorize (2D polygons). 
   • 2D Buffer - Distance of the buffer around the extruded polygon (in meters). This option is only available if Classification Mode is set to 3D polygon or colorize (2D polygons).
   • Texture File - Type the full path of the BMP, GIF or JPEG texture file to provide the texture for the layer’s polygons (polygons). The other texture properties are displayed only after the texture file path is entered. You can set a transparent color for GIF and BMP files. Pixels with this color appear as holes in the texture. With GIF files, you can assign any color as the transparent color by using the GIF transparent color feature. With BMP files, the total-black color (RGB = 0, 0, 0) is used as the transparent color. 
   • Tiling Method - Determines how the texture image file is applied to the layer’s polygons (polygons). The options are:
   • Tiles per Axis – Designate a set number of tiles (repeats of the texture file) for the x and y axes of the polygon. The image file will be sized to enable the set number of tiles per axis. 
   • Meters per Tile – Designate a size in meters for each tile.
   • Scale X - Determines the scaling for the texture according to the Tiling Method setting (polygons): If Tiling Method is Tiles per axis: Determines the number of repeats of the image file in the X-axis. If Tiling Method is Meters per Tile: Determines the size, in meters, of each tile in the X-axis. 
   • Scale Y - Determines the scaling for the texture according to the Tiling Method setting (polygons): If Tiling Method is Tiles per axis: Determines the number of repeats of the image file in the Y-axis. If Tiling Method is Meters per Tile: Determines the size, in meters, of each tile in the Y-axis.
   • Altitude Method - Sets the altitude method to be used by the layer: Select Relative (to Terrain) to place each point of the layer at a specified altitude above the ground, defined by its Altitude Offset (polygons, polylines, points). Select Absolute to place each point at a specified altitude (defined by the Altitude Offset) above the terrain database vertical datum base ellipsoid. You can use this feature to create layers with known absolute altitude values that are not dependent on the terrain elevation values (polygons, polylines, points). Select Relative to 3DML to place each point of the layer at a specified altitude above the 3DML layer (points). Select On Terrain to create the layer on the terrain (polygons, polylines).  
   • Altitude Offset - Specified altitude above the ground to place each point of the layer. This property is only available for polygons and polylines if “Relative” or “Absolute” were selected as the Altitude Method. For a point layer, if Relative to 3DML is selected as the Altitude Method, the Altitude offset if the altitude above the 3DML. Field expressions are supported.
   • Clamp to - Clamp layer to terrain or model. This property is only available if "On Terrain" was selected as the Altitude Method (polylines).
2. Click Apply, and then click OK.
