TerraExplorer offers an array of tools, which make it easy to analyze and visualize topographical information to enhance your geospatial understanding of an area:
- Contour Map - Create a topographic map that portrays differences in terrain elevation by connecting points of equal elevation with contour lines or by coloring terrain according to varying altitudes.
-
Slope Map - A range of tools that provide slope information for a specified area or the entire terrain, including an advanced slope map in which parameters such as coverage area, slope palette, and arrow color can be customized.
- Best Path - Calculate the best path between two locations on the terrain without exceeding definable climb and descent slope limits. This route analysis tool includes advanced path‑planning constraints that allow you to accurately model real‑world movement conditions, including maximum climb slope, maximum descent slope, maximum side slope, and minimum path width.
- Clear Path - Provides fast, high‑level indications of areas that meet user‑defined visibility and clearance criteria within a specified search radius. It helps users quickly identify suitable locations for specific purposes - such as helicopter landing zones or vehicle pathways - by highlighting potential unobstructed areas directly on the 3D map.
- High and Low - Identifies elevation differences within a selected area of interest and visualizes them by colorizing the highest and lowest regions based on user‑defined percentage thresholds. This tool helps ground forces quickly identify high ground - areas of tactical advantage - and low ground, which may be tactically disadvantageous, supporting more effective maneuver planning within the area.
- Elevation Profile - Display the terrain elevation profile along a defined path, and related information on this profile such as maximum and minimum elevation values and slope. The elevation profile can also compare the terrain profile of two layers or of a layer and the base terrain.
- Flood Analysis - Assess the land area covered by water in different water flooding scenarios. Analysis can be performed based on single instance - water level rises once, or continuous rise - water level rising at a constant rate over a certain period of time.
- Volume Analysis - Analyze the volume of the terrain or model removed or added by selected horizontal planes or modify terrain/3DML objects.
- Cross Section - Make horizontal or vertical straight cuts to expose obscured sections of the 3D View.
- Clip Box - Clips everything except labels that are outside or inside of a selected box to help you focus on specific elements in your 3D project.
