Centralized Server Logs SGS application logs and new W3C-format HTTP request logs are now stored in separate folders under the SGS shared configuration folder, making logs easier to access and manage across Windows, Docker, and multi-instance deployments. The log location and HTTP logging behavior can be configured in the settings file.
Automatic Public URL Detection SGS now automatically detects the public-facing URL used in WFS, WMS, and WMTS service responses, eliminating the need for manual Public URL configuration and simplifying deployment behind reverse proxies and load balancers. An explicit PublicUrl can still be configured when needed.
Additional Compatibility and Usability Improvements
IIS path-based hosting: Added support for path-based deployments, enabling SkylineGlobe Server to run alongside other IIS-hosted web applications.
Reverse proxy and load balancer support: Added support for overriding the X-Server-Base-Url header with the configured PublicUrl value, improving compatibility with reverse proxies and load balancers.
PostgreSQL migration support: Expanded SGSDBTool compatibility with secured PostgreSQL deployments by supporting database migrations using non-superuser accounts.
Windows-to-Linux migration support: Improved cross-platform migration by accounting for differences between Windows and Linux path formats, ensuring that migrated layers load correctly.
Session statistics reporting: Refined session-related labels and reporting on the Overview page to provide clearer and more accurate metrics.
Gaussian Splatting integration: Added Cesium URL and Esri URL properties to Gaussian Splatting layers, providing the same integration options available for mesh layers.
Case-insensitive search: Updated SkylineGlobe Server Manager searches to return matching users, layers, and data sources regardless of capitalization.
Bug Fixes
ArcGIS Pro streaming mesh rendering: Corrected the rendering of large streaming mesh datasets loaded from SkylineGlobe Server into ArcGIS Pro, eliminating visible holes and ensuring complete visualization.
WMTS rendering in TerraExplorer: Eliminated grid artifacts that could appear at certain zoom levels when rendering WMTS imagery streamed through TerraBuilder and SkylineGlobe Server.
Vertical datum files on Linux: Corrected the handling of filename case differences on Linux, ensuring that GTX vertical datum files can be located and used successfully in coordinate transformations.
Alias resolution and site isolation: Prevented unintended cross-site access to restricted content and resolved conflicts involving identical aliases defined in different sites.
Password preservation during upgrades: Corrected an issue that could cause user passwords to be reset when migrating from SkylineGlobe Server 8.2 to 8.5, particularly when migrating to a new machine or a different user account.
TBP layer stability: Improved stability and layer-loading reliability for published TBP projects containing multiple imagery layers.
TerraBuilder integration: Corrected an initialization issue that could prevent TerraBuilder from reliably loading layers directly from SkylineGlobe Server 8.5.
Cross-site layer sharing: Corrected the visibility of layers shared from the Default site through Selected List permissions, ensuring that authorized users in other sites can access them.
Photo Inspector publishing: Corrected the transfer of SMPT photo files to ensure reliable publication of Photo Inspector projects to SkylineGlobe Server.
